Check out the following link to download some guitar music recorded by Michael Carenbauer for Christmas. The arrangements are simple and lovely; there are five songs: “Away in a Manger,” “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” ”Joy to the World,” “What Child is This (Greensleeves).” and “Silent Night.”
I downloaded them from the site and can play them on ITunes, and I imagine you can play them on any music player you have on your system. A bonus to downloading them on ITunes: there is a picture of Michael holding his guitar.

Let Michael know what you think!
Eva had her 1st dance recital. They did a ballet number to the Lion King and a tap number to a song from Hair. It was so cute, however, she had no clue what was going on and didn’t dance for most of the show. She told me later she had stage fright. I asked if she knew what that was and she said “yes, it is when you are fright because of the bright lights”. I think mom had more fun than she did:)

Eva Toplak as a lioness!
Priceless!!
Hi dear family,
I mentioned to some of you that Dick and I are thinking of having a commitment ceremony. Well we are going to Palm Desert on Monday Dec. 14 and are being joined by friends from Yuba City, Nancy and Don. Don is an ordained minister and he and Nancy are about our ages and had a commitment ceremony, so we decided it would be a great time to go for it. We have written our own commitment ceremony with music and readings and Don will officiate. It will be at noon at the Marriott Villas on next Wednesday. Dick’s sister and brother in law from Henderson are coming and the Glasheens will come down from Idyllwild and Polly Mason from Borrego Springs and an old friend of Dick’s from Yuma. So it is a small group…We are very happy.
Love, Mom

Next week is finals week for me and I am giving two that day, but I will be there in spirit!

I got to know Erich Hamm, Christine’s son, when Michael Uberti and I went on a river rafting trip down the Uppper Salmon River in Idaho a couple of years ago. We had a great time and Erich was a spectacular host and tour guide. I also found out that he and I share another passion, THEATRE, and he is now living in New York City and is working for a lighting design firm, the Glow Design Group (here is a link to their website: http://www.glowdesigngroup.com ).
Good news – he is engaged! Here are some pictures of him (looking every inch a Carenbauer) with his fiancee, Esther Moran, doing what he likes best – being in the outdoors!
Esther, I am sure the Hamms and the Carenbauers look forward to welcoming you into the family.
Congratulations Erich! I will keep everyone posted on the impending nuptials.
