Speaking of Tara Kuglen. . .

These words and pictures are from Tom Kuglen – some great pictures of his sons (with Tara):

I hope this finds you well.  I think your Kuglen.com project is  great.  Here are a couple of photos to kick things off.  Both were  taken around Christmas 2008.  Matthew (b. 10/05) and Alexander (b.  7/07) are the two newest Kuglens (unless somebody’s been up to  something I don’t know about.)  I’m not saying Tara is their favorite  aunt (because Fran would kill me) but she does love them dearly, and  they her.

Matthew and ALexander are Tom's 2 sons.

I also heard from Charlotte:

Great idea of keeping in touch. Here are some thoughts on the blog.

Jose and I just got back from Boston to see Jose’s  sisters and had a chance to catch up with Tara Kuglen. She looks great and as full of energy and life as ever.

It was great to see her.

There is nothing like the memory review of connections with family. It’s like the Cheers Bar, “where everyone know my name. “

Short of newsy notes to exchange perhaps we could have some sort theme on the blog…thoughts:
Ancestors we knew
Ancestors we heard about
Animals in our lives

Or another might be “What I remember about……”

Because of the wide generation span, each of us knows bits and pieces of family events and people so for those who remember, each can jump in.

 Just sign me Cousin Char

So there you have it, people – a couple of ideas.  What do you think?

First of all, thanks Tom, for sending the pictures of Tara and especially the pictures of the boys. (This is a Tara themed posting  :-)   )   They are great looking kids and we’d like to see more!  Not only from Tom, but from E-V-E-R-Y-O-N-E!  IF you have old pictures of your parents, you as a kid with your brothers and sisters and cousins, making your first communion, getting married, on vacation, enjoying the holidays, anything you think we might enjoying seeing and sharing, send it along!  I am not shy about posting it right away and the way to get started and keep it moving is for everyone to send stuff along.  Your ideas don’t have to be momentous, life changing happenings, they can be as simple as walking on the beach with Aunt Tara.  The more we get, the more we have to share – and that is the whole point, right?  As Char and Tom will tell you, I will post what you send to me as we get started – unless you ask me not to include it in the post.  (But I want to include it)

I like Char’s idea and here’s my input into something for folks to write about:  your memories of spending the night at an Aunt/Uncle’s house – or a cross country trip to see family.  I have memories of these occasions from both sides of the family, Mom’s and Dad’s, and I think it would be great to hear from everyone else what they remember about traveling to Canoga Park, Rutherford, Wheeling, Laramie and other places.  Don’t get upset if I leave someplace out – just write me and let me know and I will make amends on the next posting.

I don’t have all your email addresses, so please let people know about this blog!

You will also notice misspelled words and odd punctuation, but I am still learning how to use the site and haven’t figured out some stuff yet.  Once I do, I will make corrections.  I SWEAR.

  1. I’m Tina Rigali, cousin to Sam Kuglen and daughter of Mary Anita (Kuglen) Rigali –
She was known as Aunt Anita or Aunt Mary Anita
to my cousins. She was the daughter of
Bom Bom and Grandpap Kuglen aka Francis and Edward
Kuglen also known as Mother and Dad. I just wanted to get that out before I start blogging.
Thanks for putting this together cousin Sam.
When we were kids I called you Sammy. I have alot of great memories to be shared on this site in the future. love you all, T.
